Jamaica roadshow connects businesses with Africa–Caribbean trade finance
Afreximbank held its first Jamaica roadshow in Kingston on 2 June 2026, presenting trade finance, investment and advisory services to businesses, financial institutions and government representatives. The engagement followed Jamaica’s signing of the bank’s partnership agreement in July 2025.
Coverage in the Jamaica Observer linked the roadshow with Afreximbank’s US$5 billion financing facility for the Caribbean, including Jamaica. Manufacturing, tourism, hospitality, industrial parks and special economic zones were among the areas discussed.
The commercial theme was the relationship between productive capacity and trade. Companies seeking new customers may also need investment in the assets and processes required to supply them consistently. The roadshow positioned Afreximbank as a potential partner in that development.
For African buyers and suppliers, the engagement offers a reason to examine specific opportunities with Jamaican businesses. The relevant starting point is a product or service with a clear customer, credible economics and workable delivery arrangements.
Buyers can prepare a concise purchasing brief describing specifications, expected volumes and destination requirements. Suppliers can respond with capacity information, indicative lead times and the steps needed to serve the proposed market.
The regional facility is a financing framework, rather than a guarantee that any individual transaction will receive support. Access arrangements and project assessment will determine how businesses participate.
African Buyers Programme members can use these developments to structure focused commercial conversations across the Atlantic. Bringing buyer demand, supplier capability and financing needs into the same discussion can make the next step clearer and help prospective partnerships progress towards practical trade.
