The Malagasy Union of Organic Agriculture SYMABIO was created in March 2011 on the initiative of operators aware of the economic, social and environmental challenges of the sector and of the need to structure themselves into groups to raise awareness among public opinion and the authorities in the promotion of organic farming.

The union has about thirty members working in the organic sector and with certificates of conformity for their organic products. The network has 5000 producer partners in rural areas located in different regions of Madagascar. Harvesting operations are also a source of income for countless villagers in the organic areas
