Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA) is a Pan-African initiative jointly implemented by Selam (an international cultural player that endeavours to bridge cultural gaps by creating inclusive platforms for creative expression) and the African Union (AU) dedicated to impacting the cultural and creative landscape of Africa. This pioneering project aims to reshape perceptions, advocate for increased public investment, and promote inclusivity within the continent’s diverse cultural expressions. Building on the Revised African Union Plan of Action on Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs), CfCA strives to strengthen critical domains such legislative frameworks, statistical analysis, cultural infrastructure development, and market structures for creative products. In alignment with the African Union’s vision, Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA) aims to influence African governments to allocate at least 1% of their national budgets to the Culture, Arts, and Heritage sector by 2030.
Currently, CfCA is implemented in five focus Countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania..
